The portrait process:

I prefer to photograph my subjects myself so I can see their true coloring and personality.  I will photograph them in various backgrounds, indoors and outdoors, and work with you and your "vision" of the portrait composition.  After the photo session, I will look at them, work out  the best composition from them and present you with a value sketch for your approval.  After the value sketch approval, I transfer the sketch to canvas and paint!  Most paintings take at least a month, but can take longer if I have a backlog of commissions to be finished. 

If you do not live in my area, I can paint from high quality photos provided (several of my clients live in other states).  They can be emailed or snail-mailed.    Provide as many good photos of the subject(s) as possible in different poses with good light.  Discuss any concerns such as skin tone, hair/eye color, etc. if they do not appear in the photo as true to life.   Though the portrait is guaranteed your approval,  a 50%, non-refundable deposit is required.

All portraits are charged at $3 per square inch
 

Note cards of the portrait are included in the price..   An additional $100 per  each extra subject is charged.  Credit cards are accepted via Pay Pal.  Framing and extra prints of portraits are available upon request.
